The countdown to Royal Ascot is on, but our attention turns to Monday’s card from up and down the country. We’ve got four tips from all over the UK.
3:45 Brighton – Wapping (3/1)
Owned by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, this horse is certainly music to our ears. He won well on his last start at Bath and can improve from that effort. He hasn’t gone up too highly in the weights, and should play a leading role.
4:30 Ayr – Grandad’s World (13/2)
This Richard Fahey sprinter has kept being lowered by the handicapper and has to be in a winning place off this current mark. Ideally he may want an extra furlong, but this looks a great opportunity for him to get back to winning ways.
6:30 Windsor – Mudallel (5/4)
An expensive purchase for Ed Dunlop who ran well to finish second at Newmarket on debut. He looks bred to improve throughout the season, but took a significant step back when finishing fifth at Doncaster earlier this month. The conditions went against him that day, and he should be better suited to Windsor this afternoon.
8:10 Pontefract – Globetrotter (3/1)
After finally gaining victory last time I fancy James Tate’s three-year-old to follow up AT Pontefract. He’s highly weighted but beat a nice Godolphin colt in the making, and should be up to winning this sort of contest.
